Setup Name and Greeting for Voicemail
Your voicemail greeting is the message your callers hear when they reach your voicemail. There are two types of voicemail greetings - Busy and No Answer. The Busy greeting is played when you are on another call and do not have call waiting, and the No Answer greeting is played when you do not answer the call. All phones are set to the default of call waiting on.
You can set up and manage your voicemail greetings in the Calling User Portal.
- Go to https://settings.webex.com and select Webex Calling. For first time access or if you forgot your password, enter your email address and then click forgot password to receive an email to reset your password.
- From the calling user portal, click Voicemail.
- Click Voicemail Settings.
- Scroll to Greetings.
- Set the number of rings you'd like callers to hear before they hear your voicemail greeting.
- Choose your busy greeting (doesn't apply when Call Waiting is on) from the drop-down menu next to If busy use greeting from:
- System—This plays the system default greeting.
- Personal—If this option is selected, choose the file to upload.
Greetings can be recorded by dialing the Voice Portal (pressing the message button on your IP phone) and entering the Voice Portal password.

- Click Save.

Voicemail Greetings can be recorded by dialing the Voice Portal (pressing the message button on your phone) and entering the Voice Portal password (default is 147856#).
- Once you enter the password you will be required to record your name. The recording of your name will be used for your default greeting.
- If you would like to record a different greeting “press 1 for voicemail box” and then follow the prompts for “change your mailbox no answer greeting.”
- If you would like to use an away message that you turn on when you’re away and off when you return (vacation, etc.), please follow the steps below. This will eliminate the need to keep re-recording your regular greeting each time you return to the office from an extended time out. Please note that callers are not able to leave a message when the extended away greeting is activated.
- Press 1 to access your voice mailbox.
- Then Press 4 to access the Extended Away Greeting menu.
- Press 3 to record your Extended Away Greeting. Follow the prompts.
- To activate your Extended Away Greeting, Press 1.
- To deactivate the Extended Away Greeting, follow the above steps 1 and 2. When prompted, Press 2 to deactivate the Extended Away Greeting.
