All Android Apps must be approved by TSS and made available on the Play Store app. District Chromebooks do NOT support the ability to install apps directly from the Google Play website, you MUST use the app. Follow the instructions below for using the Play Store App. To request that an app be approved, please open a helpdesk ticket.
- Open the Play Store app from the shelf.
If you do not see a shortcut for the Play Store click on the App Launcher (the circle button in the lower-left corner) and launch the Play Store app from there.
- All approved Android apps will be listed and available for install. If you do not see the app you must request the app by opening a helpdesk ticket
- In order to use Google Drive with Android apps, you must install the Android version of Google Drive. Click on Google Drive then click Install
- If you install a GSuite app such as Docs or Sheets you will notice two separate icons. The Chrome Web App will now have a gray Chrome icon in the bottom right corner, while the Android App will not. See the example below:
