We recommend the following steps when you are having trouble recording on a Chromebook:
First, clear the cache and restart the Chromebook:
- Click the menu button (three dots in a vertical line) in the upper-right corner
- Hover over More tools in the drop-down menu
- Click Clear Browsing Data… in the sub-menu
- In the new window, click Advanced and set Time range to “All time”
- Check the top 4 options:
- Browsing history
- Download history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Click Clear data
- When the pop-up window closes, restart the Chromebook
Next, allow the microphone and pop-ups for www.kidsa-z.com:
- Open Chrome and go to www.kidsa-z.com
- Click the lock icon in the address bar (this affects the settings for Kids A-Z only)
- Select Site settings in the drop-down menu
- Set the Microphone to Allow
- Set Pop-ups and redirects to Allow
Clearing the cache will reset these settings.
If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to update the Chrome operating system (OS) to the latest version:
- Click the WiFi icon in the lower-right corner
- Select the settings icon (looks like a gear) in the pop-up window
- Click the menu button (three horizontal bars) in the upper-left corner
- Click About OS
- Click Check for updates
- Restart after updates are installed
- You may need to clear the cache and restart again after the OS is updated
