Teachers have the option of connecting their Genesis Gradebooks to their Google Classrooms. The link provides a two-way sync for assignments and grades. In Genesis, from the Gradebook Home screen, you’ll see a Sync icon to the right of your gradebooks.
Assignments created in the Genesis Gradebook can be pushed to Google Classroom. Fields modified on the assignment in Genesis will sync back to Google and vice versa.Grades posted in Genesis for the assignments will push to Google.
Assignments that are created in Google Classroom and pushed to the Genesis Gradebook behave differently. You will be able to sync your Google Classroom assignments and grades from Classroom into Genesis but it will not be a two-way sync. In this case, changes made in Genesis will NOT sync back to Google Classroom. This includes posted grades. Quiz Assignments do not sync from Genesis as that is not supported by the Google API. They will sync coming down from Google Classroom.
When you navigate to the Gradebook module in Genesis, you’ll see a Welcome to Genesis Classroom Integration dialogue box that provides detailed information on how the integration works and includes links to Classroom Integration videos. Note:you can mark the dialogue box as “read” so that it no longer displays as a pop-up by default. To do so, scroll to the bottom of the dialogue box and click on Mark as Read. You can always access this information again by clicking on the Google Rollout Bar.
Important! Link your EXISTING Google Classroom to your Gradebook
Google classrooms are created administratively for teachers through the Little SIS program. When linking your gradebook to your Google Classroom, you want to select your existing Classroom; you do not want to create a new Classroom.
