Mark emails as spam
The more you report spam, the better Gmail gets at automatically marking similar messages as spam.
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- Select one or more emails.
- Click Report spam
.
Note: When you click Report spam or manually move an email into your Spam folder, Google will receive a copy of the email and may analyze it to help protect our users from spam and abuse.
Delete emails in Spam
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- On the left, click Spam. If you don't see Spam, click More.
- At the top, click Delete all spam messages now. Or, select specific emails, then click Delete forever.
Unmark an email as spam
If an email was incorrectly marked as spam, follow the steps below to remove it from Spam.
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- On the left, click Spam. If you don't see Spam, click More.
- Open the email.
- At the top of the page, click Not spam.
To stop a message from being sent to Spam in the future, you can:
- Add the sender to your Contacts
- Filter these messages
